When we first contacted Verizon, we were told that we didn't have any problems, which by the time we got through and the tests had been run, of course we hadn't. We have since done our own tests and re-reported the problem as one regarding the defaulting DNS servers and this morning, we have been told (by Verizon) to use 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1.I just replaced my ActionTec router (failed power supply) with another Verizon supplied unit. In the 10 days since, I'm having really severe problems with DNS lookups being really slow, web pages freezing or timing out, video streaming (YouTube, CNN, CSPAN, ABC etc) working about 60 to 90 seconds then freezing and the connection being lost.I can share my test results. I used Ping&Net utility on my moto z4 phone when connected by WiFi to Comcast and using their DNS servers first. I was able to Traceroute and Ping joinnow.l ive successfully, resolving the domain to 65.8.198.13 on cloudfront.net. Then shutting off WiFi on my phone and using VZW and their DNS servers, both Traceroute and Ping fail to resolve the domain.On a Windows based machine. Open up a command prompt. Use the command NSLOOKUP. And type in the following URL auth.api.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com. It should reply with an IP address. If it replys with a Timeout then it's a DNS issue. You have to do this multiple times in a rapid sucession. You should always get an IP address reply.

You are correct, OpenDNS is a DNS provider, not a dynamic DNS resolver. It should have nothing to do with this issue. Of course, you could try using another DNS provider just to be sure. I suggest Google's or the Verizon default to start.
